Our Mission
This coalition was brought together in light of the continued expansion of the Prevent programme and the failure of the UK government to meaningfully engage widespread concerns about it. The refusal of the government to conduct an adequate review has necessitated greater partnership between organisations concerned about the reach of British counter-terrorism and its impact on British society. As a coalition, we will be hosting events, publishing articles and openly pushing for a non-partisan, rigorous and societal-wide public examination of the impacts and harms of Prevent.
Our aims

-
Provide a space for everyone - including affected communities, civil society groups, experts and professionals - to discuss the impact, harms and future of Prevent
-
Communicate the wealth of knowledge and perspectives on Prevent to inform public
-
Share and support existing work critically responding to Prevent, including in the form of activism, art and research
Our values

-
We are committed to the human rights of everyone, without discrimination
-
We believe that the experiences of individuals and groups who are affected and harmed by Prevent must be a central part of responses to the policy
